it was raining yesterday night. I went to bed quite late. 8-9am somewhere I think. well, just as I meant to do that, I opened my window and stuck my hand outside. and enjoyed the feeling rain caused on my palm. I observed the drops of water falling from my fingers.. went into thinking how cool of a photo that would make. (it felt so at the time so shush) and how impossible it is for me by myself to make that photo. so I wanted to take a photo of a water drop just as it falls off my window. (roof window). and I did. I took more than 300 photos. in really awkward positions. after I cleaned up (deleted either unfocused, the ones I totally missed the timing with, underexposed, uninteresting, empty ones, ..) I got left with 40 of them. this is one. about 5 or so are up to standards with this one.. the others are just.. interesting. all in all, that is a pretty low percentage taken/kept photos. even for me. so I hope you like this one, because it's a CHOSEN ONE!

I was switching this one between lightroom and PS all the time. in the end, I decided for this effect. (lightroom "selenium tone" preset) originally this was green.. the black/blue was green/black. if anyone wants to see original, say so. it is actually not bad at all. I hope this is not too dark for some of you.. also, if you see anything not-as-it-should on your monitor, tell me. thank you

and the title.. not hard to figure out. I imagine this drop as a growing up kid that had to leave his home/house, in order to go find his destiny. all alone. but that by itself is his destiny..

I know water droplets are an overused element in photography.. but they are fun. capturing the tiniest moment in time.. ^^
